Project Development Manager (m/f/d)

About the role

As a Project Development Manager (m/f/d) you are responsible for managing all phases of solar project development, including the identification, evaluation and realization of projects. The position reports to the Head of Project Development.

Primary responsibilities

  • Manage the entire project development process from site selection to completion of development,
  • Management of project planning development also by engaging external technical consultants,
  • Conduct detailed technical assessments of sites and projects being mindful of environmental and technical considerations,
  • Perform technical due diligence of projects, as appropriate,
  • Work with local authorities to obtain planning permits, licenses and clearances as well as other necessary documentations such as planning and construction permission, environmental impact assessments and grid connection studies with internal and external service providers,
  • Develop and maintain necessary personal networks to stakeholders at different levels.
  • Close interaction with specialized departments in the juwi Group, in particular concerning system design, construction, procurement, business development, project acquisition and project management,
  • Budgetary responsibility for specific projects,
  • To provide regular business updates on project progress,
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Project Development.

Candidate requirements

juwi is looking for the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes:

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture or similar technical from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in PV-project development and management.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Italian renewable energy market and current legislation.
  • Good understanding of utility regulatory environment and renewable energy business.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize competing time demands.
  • Self-directed with ability to work well / seamlessly with a larger team, including outside sales, design / electrical, interconnecting utility and host customer personnel.
  • Experience of CAD software, MS project and the office suite of programs in general.
  • English upper intermediate level.
  • Ability to travel often.

Objectives

To assist with the day-to-day activities of the Finance department. 

Your primary responsibilities regarding Accounting:

  • capturing customers and suppliers’ invoices and other daily transactions,
  • assist for maintaining accurate financial records for the juwi Italy Group according Italian GAAP standard,
  • responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts according to Italian GAAP,
  • assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements of the various Group companies,
  • assist auditing and any reporting requirement for group purposes,
  • debtors and creditors control activities,
  • bank management and reconciliations.

Your primary responsibilities regarding Reporting/Liquidity:

  • assist with timely reporting in terms of all Group reporting requirements,
  • assist with the cashflow planning and submitting information to group,
  • perform any other ad-hoc controlling task as required in collaboration with Finance team,
  • assist reporting to other stakeholders as required (Internal and External).

Your primary responsibilities regarding Statutory requirement:

  • preparation and submission of VAT/Intrastat returns, including timely payment of all VAT amounts due,
  • preparation and submission of Income Tax returns, including timely payment of all Income Tax amounts due,
  • withholding taxes declarations on monthly/yearly basis,
  • ensure compliance with other statutory requirements.

Candidate requirements

juwi is looking for the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes:

  • Business school training or degree in business administration.
  • Accounting degree (preferably University but could consider high school if enough experience).
  • Experience in compilation of financial statements according to Italian GAAP.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience, ideally in an international company.
  • Experience in Accounting and Office Management.
  • Very Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experienced in the usage of MS-Office programs, especially MS-Excel, MS-Word, and MS-Outlook.
  • Experience with internet applications.
  • Strong ability to organise and prioritise.
  • Very good interpersonal.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

About the role

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the execution of projects on time within budget and scope. Project management activities include schedule, budget, scope, quality, risk, contracts, engineering, integration, compliance, stakeholder management throughout the execution of the projects. You will report to the Project Sponsor.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Ensure that project is delivered on-time. Create full-scale project plans & construction schedules. Track project timelines, milestones and deliverables,
  • Ensure that project is delivered within budget. Keep overview of budgetary objectives, identify discrepancies and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis,
  • Ensure that project is delivered within scope. Monitor compliance with specifications and requirements included in project contracts and other related project documents,
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs. Perform risk management to minimize project risks. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques,
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs,
  • Ensure resource availability/allocation and technical feasibility. Coordinate internal and external resources for the flawless execution of the project,
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on regular basis. Develop and deliver progress reports and presentations to the Project Sponsor and other company executives and to the customer,
  • Implement & comply with juwi processes and standards.

 

Candidate requirements

juwi is looking for the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes:

  • University Degree in Engineering. Management studies at a post-graduate level will be considered a plus.
  • Proven working experience in project management, preferably in solar projects. PMI certification will be considered an asset.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Experience of contract management and knowledge of standard contract forms.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project & MS Office.
  • Fluent in Italian and in English (verbal & writing).
  • Excellent communication skills: able to communicate across levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability of working autonomously, decision making and problem solving. 
  • Team player with evident leadership qualities.
  • Willing to travel frequently, locally and internationally, and stay on site.

About the role

The Construction Manager (m/f/d) will be responsible for on-site management and construction of commercial & industrial (C&I) scale solar PV EPC projects in Italy and the EMEA Region, including full responsibility for technical, environmental and safety compliance; cost, quality, schedule, integration, stakeholders, logistics and security. Focus on quality management and control is paramount. This position is regarded as a hands-on, site based, skilled construction management role.

 

Primary responsibilities

  • accountable for the successful on-site execution of C&I solar PV EPC projects from construction planning and establishment through commissioning, energisation and handover,
  • formal construction management in accordance with company procedures & processes, legislation, standards and industry best practise; including technical, cost, schedule, quality, and stakeholder aspects,
  • you will report to the Technical Director of juwi Italy and the Head of Construction EMEA,
  • responsible for management and reporting on construction and commissioning progress (schedule, costs, risk, quality, SHE, compliance etc.),         
  • adopt, implement and improve where necessary the juwi construction management standards/ processes to minimize project risk and maximize performance,
  • ensure compliance with all specifications and requirements in accordance with drawings and specification associated with construction quality, test & commissioning and handover,
  • responsible for achieving construction schedule and payment milestones, including preparation/ compilation of all supporting documentation,
  • coordination and cooperation with relevant internal and external interfaces,
  • ensure full compliance with the QHSE regulations, legislation, standards, codes and requirements in the Region,
  • responsible for the technical handover to O&M and/or the Owner.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering or master degree or High school diploma (civil, mechanical,), Electrical qualification would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years construction management experience in Electrical infrastructure projects with overall responsibility, 2 years of which gained managing large scale solar PV plants including grid connection (MV).  
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally (suppliers and customers).
  • A proven track record in successfully delivering projects on time, on budget, safely and compliant with technical & quality requirements and standards.
  • Experience of working autonomously, as the position requires leadership, decision making and problem solving.
  • Conversant with construction management (control and monitoring) tools, MS Project, BIM (Building integrated model), MS Office, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience of construction cost, schedule, risk, technical and quality management and control, e.g. Quality Control Plan.
  • Conversant with construction, environmental and safety requirements and legislation.
  • An understanding of standard contract forms and contract management.
  • Italian: native speaker; English: fluent speaker.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in matrix organizations and to operate in a culturally diverse international environment.
  • Team player with demonstrable leadership qualities.

 

Other requirements

  • National and international travel will be required in line with business requirements.
  • In addition to the duties mentioned above, the job holder is required to carry out other duties that are in essence part of his area of activity, according to his knowledge and abilities.
